The hardest 10k
Oliver Johnston was involved in an horrific car crash in Spain just over three years ago. The injuries he sustained were exstensive and the prognosis was dire. The experts told him to that he could forget running as there was no realistic hope that he would be able to participate in the sport that he loved ever again. What they didn't take into account, however, was his mental resilience and determined attitude. Once he was out of intensive care he spent many months rehabilitating with the aim of returning to some sort of normality. In May 2013 he ran the Beverley 10k in 57:59. This is Oliver's story of recovery from tragedy.
