RACE REPORT

Pednor International 10 - Saturday 31st December 2011

3rd Pednor 10

Pednor 10 Race report – 31st December 2011

The 3rd Pednor 10 Annual Charity run took place on New Year’s Eve with a record turnout of 116 (which took us by surprise with 55 signing up on the day creating a few logistical issues!). We will attempt to inprove these areas for next year.

The race conditions were fantastic for December and it was great to see so many runners!

In the Senior Men’s, the race was won by Nigel Marley (57:22), closely followed by Simon Coombes in 2nd (57:32) and 3rd place was Darren McNeeley (59:37). All three men broke the hour and a new course record was set.

The Senior Ladies race saw some great runs and was won by Katy Young (01:11:44) followed by Manuela Maxwell in 2nd (01:14:47) and Natalie Ruffell in 3rd (01:15:24)

Other Age Group winners included Michaela Colwell (F40-50), Marcus Maxwell (M40-50), Kate Loach (F50-60), Roger Saunders (M50-60) and Leonard Smith (M60+).

The Relay proved successful and will certainly be developed in the future. The Winning Teams were Adrian Berry and Simon Abbey (Male Relay), Siv Vatne Lock and Ruth Lingley (Female Relay) and Greg Hill and Lyn Mellor (Mixed Relay).

A huge thanks to all the competitors, Marshals, the Race Referee, Pre-med, The Queens Head pub and 1879 Tennis Club for the General Facilities.

Thank you also to Chiltern Harriers for your continued support of this Charity Event which we hope will raise in the region of £700.00. We will keep you updated.

Next Year’s event will provisionally be on the 30th December 2011. More information including photos and future events can be found on www.arctic1.co.uk and www.chiltern-harriers.org.uk.
