Super quick at sixty

Nick Rose super quick at sixty

On 30 December Nick Rose celebrated his 60th birthday and then ten days later sprinted round 3000m in a smidgen over 10 minutes (10:00.49). This superb run has taken him to the top of the all time list for V60 3000m, nudging out Fred Gibbs who covered the distance in 10:01.17 twelve years ago. Nick is no stranger at the top of the all time rankings. He is still ranked at the top of the 10k (road) list in front of Mo Farah. Nick ran 27:34 for the distance in 1984 and Mo is trailing 10 seconds behind that, although Mo has covered the distance on the track in 26:46.57.

We caught up with Nick to congratulate him and to find the secret to longevity. It is clear that he loves running and so it looks likely there will be more entries into the record books.
