It is a unique partnership between UK Athletics, England Athletics, scottishathletics, Welsh Athletics, Athletics Northern Ireland and road race organisers of all sizes, from across the country, All profits from runbritain.com are invested back into the development of endurance running in the UK.

The aim of runbritain is:

To make British road running the best in the world in terms of organisation, development and performance

Our goals:

To build participation

  • Attract more unattached runners into the community of the sport and encourage a higher proportion to progress to club membership
  • Leave more money in the hands of race organisers - the majority of which are running clubs - to grow and improve their events
  • Raise funds and re-invest in the sport of road racing
  • Raise funds through other means and deliver them to all levels of the sport

To promote events

  • Provide race directories with cheapest online entry in the market
  • Develop the UKA road race licence to become a universally-recognised quality kite-mark

Long-term, to promote endurance running in schools and communities not currently involved

To create an online community for road runners and race organisers, with services, news and information

To support event development

  • Take a national lead on standards including medical, safety for runners and spectators and a consolidated approach to police forces re road closures
