Sheffield Adventure Film Festival Trailer 2012
The 2012 Sheffield Adventure Film Festival programme has just been released and there are more films than ever with 75 of the best adventure, travel and extreme sports films hand-picked for you from around the world. That’s 1,550 minutes of film screened over one weekend at Sheffield’s art deco Showroom Cinema - the UK’s biggest independent cinema outside London.
For runners there’s a cracking line up of films and lectures, kicking off with an Accelerate Expert Running Night on 9th February supported by New Balance and also Trail Runner magazine with a Question time panel featuring leading UK female adventure racer Caroline Bullard, ultra-runner Stu Walker (GW Record for running across Hadrian's Wall, top 10 Lakeland 100) and ultra-runner Dan Shrimpton, Winner of Hardmoors 50 and Lyke Wake Challenge.
The main festival weekend (9-11 March) is packed with a special running film screening including World Premieres of three films featuring the remarkable skyrunner Kilian Jornet and Planet Fear’s The Epic Tri (yes that’s right - Bob Graham Round + John O’Groats to Lands End + Devizes to Westminster canoe race!). Plus there’s a feature showing of Unbreakable - the Western States 100 - four of the greatest undefeated ultra-runners go head to head in the world’s most prestigious foot race. And last but not least, we’re proud to host an illustrated lecture and book signing by mountain runners Angela Mudge and Jethro Lennox (authors of World’s Ultimate Running Races) and an illustrated lecture by runner & English marathon record holder Charlie Spedding (author of From Last to First).

How to smash the mile world record whilst honouring our past and present Armed Forces of Britain
On Saturday 12th November 2011 former Royal Marine Lee Riley celebrated his 30th birthday by annihilating a world record that had stood for 18 years. This personal trainer is now the fastest man on the planet over a mile with a 40lb pack. Lee needed to beat a time of 5 minutes and 35 seconds set by ex-Para and multi-record holder Paddy Doyle in 1993.

Mark Cooper World Record Attempt - Wobbly WIlliams.
Mark Cooper set off at 1800hrs on 28 July 2011 in an attempt to break a world record and run more than 160 mles in 24 hours on a treadmill.
Mark is one of the Wobbly Williams Try-Athletes, a running team founded by Bryn Williams, which raises funds and awareness for the Parkinson's disease charity Funding Neuro. He needed to run at least 161 miles in 24 hours to beat the current Guinness World Record which was set in 2004.

THOUSANDS of spectators enjoyed the Spring sunshine in Reading as they cheered 15,000 runners who made their way along the 13.1 mile route that finished in the Madejski Stadium. The Reading Half Marathon was the first race in the 2011 runbritain Grand Prix.

Beverley 10km 2010
MORE than a thousand runners pounded the streets of Beverley in the annual 10km race in May. It was the biggest event in the history of the race and the thousands of spectators lining the streets added to the carnival atmosphere. The race starts in the town centre and takes the runners on a spectacular route over the Westwood before finishing in Wednesday market.

Mark Cooper - One Man - 50 Marathons
Jog Leader Mark Cooper took on an incredible 50 marathons in 56 days this summer in memory of his mother and to raise money for the Edinburgh Headway Group.
He completed his last marathon in June 2010 in Barcelona and since then he has not looked back, going on to inspire more and more people to start running and lead a life of good health and fitness.
Mark said: "If I could sit and drink every weekend and smoke 20 a day and then do this, then anyone can."

Boston to Austin 2000 Mile Run Trailer
A challenge like no other … in September Scott Jenkins, Rhys Jenkins and Rusty Tolliver will attempt to run 2000 miles from Boston, Massachusetts to Austin, Texas. The run will begin on 15th September at 10.00 am in Boston and will be completed hopefully… on the 27th november in Austin. During the two and half months the guys will encounter challenging terrain, adverse weather and, who knows, the occasional wild animal?

Each February on a dark Thursday evening the historic town of Armagh comes alive with hundreds of runners racing around the mall in an attempt to run personal best times or beat their competitors. They come from the local area aswell as further afield, from all over Europe and America. the perimeter of the mall is lined with spectators cheering and supporting the runners in their efforts. All of this is put together and organised by a small group of people from Armagh Athletics Club.
