Considerations for night events

In 2015 runbritain licensed a record 2,636 races, along with the 400 weekly parkrun events. By far the most common day of the week for hosting a road race is Sunday and the peak competition months are March-May and September-November. It means that the majority of those 2,363 races are fighting for those same 26 Sundays. We inevitably have some very bad fixture clashes.

Last weekend a half marathon start was delayed because a body was found on the route and the area became a crime scene.

I am so happy and proud of the University of Manchester cross country team who produced some excellent results at the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) cross country championships on Saturday wirtes Jackie Newton UKA L3 Endurance Coach.

Last weekend, I was privileged to be one of 22 coaches gathered for mentor education, for female coaches, as part of the SCORE project. The project aims to raise gender equality in coaching and is funded by the Erasmus + Sport programme. I was nominated by the European University Sports Association through my work as Cross Country Coach at the University of Manchester writes Jackie Newton, UKA Level 3 Endurance Coach.
