Weekend Update
Dominic Shaw was in record breaking form at the Darlington 10km race while Tracy Millmore was the women’s winner. At the England Athletics 5 mile championshipsin Preston, Josh Grace was the overall winner with Holly Archer taking the women’s title. Jamie Webb ran an impressive 800m in the European team championships in Poland, for second place overall. Sarah Inglis will also be proud of her effort in the women’s 5000m, with a third-place finish.
Dominic Shaw (handicap -4.5) retained the SG Petch Darlington 10km title and broke his own course record with a fantastic 29:52. Mohammed Abu-Rezeq (handicap -4.9) was second in 30:39. New Marske man Shaw has been in great form recently with a 10,000m PB (29:37) and a 64:28 Half Marathon. Tracy Millmore (handicap 2.0) was the women’s winner in 36:40.
With over 500 parkruns, many of us enjoyed our weekend passion on Saturday morning!
Will Richardson (handicap -5.7) and Hayley Carruthers (handicap -1.6) were the fastest athletes at UK parkruns this weekend with 15:04 and 16:01 respectively.

On Sunday, Preston hosted the England Athletics 5 mile championships. Holly Archer (handicap -0.2) can enjoy calling herself a Champion of the Road after running a 27:38 ahead of Annabel Simpson (handicap 0.3 and a time of 28:43) and Sophie Cowper (handicap 1.3 and a time of 29:45). Champion of the men was Josh Grace (handicap -5.0) in 23:43 with Jack Gray (handicap -5.6) in 23:46 and Ben Johnson (handicap -4.2 and with a time of 24:22) sharing the podium.
