Easter weekend update

There were plenty of exciting results coming over from the US, no more so than the breakthrough 1500m performance from Will Paulson who ran the fastest outdoor time of the year. Scott Overall and Alyson Dixon took to the roads in Boston. Closer to home the Scottish 10,000m Championships saw impressive wins from Lachlan Oates and Fionnuala Ross.

Weekend update

This weekend, some of our best endurance runners were in Brighton for the 10k and the marathon, which produced the biggest field of the weekend. With over 13,000 finishers in the combined road events and great weather it was the place to be for a PB! The 10k winner, Nick Goolab (28:22) is pictured above along with another sub 29 man Phil Sesemann (28:58 in 5th place overall).

Run to help manage or reduce the risk of Type 2 Diabetes

According to new analysis this year by Diabetes UK, there are around 4.7 million people in the UK living with diabetes - with that number expected to rise to 5.5 million by 2030. It's also estimated that there are nearly 1 million people living with Type 2 diabetes, but have not yet been diagnosed and a further 12.3 million people at risk of developing it. If not managed well, diabetes can lead to devastating health complications, so the need to take preventative measures against the condition has never been greater.
