When you go out for a run or run in a race approximately 95% of your energy comes from your aerobic energy system and so you should spend much of your training time running aerobically, with oxygen and feeling comfortable. By training this system you will gradually be able to increase the length of your runs and be able to run further without feeling the need to walk. This section brings you guidance on how to train aerobically and how it will work for you.
